Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia. In this disease, those affected lose their memory from the most recent events. It progresses to the past with time. That means they lose their childhood memories at the most advanced stage. They also lose their thinking and decision-making abilities and even do the simplest daily tasks (National Institute on Aging).
