The client-centred care means that the client (or the person who receives care) is the priority, not anyone else. This includes five principles: DIIPPS. 1. D: Dignity: We need to feel the person is valued, worthy, and respected. 2. I: Independence: We always need to promote what they can do by themselves; for example, if they can wear a cloth, we should allow to an extent what they can proceed. 3. I: Individualised care: What is suitable for one person may not be suitable for another. 4. P: Preferences: We should allow the person to make choices; for example, to choose what they wear for the day. 5. P: Privacy: At all times, we need to ensure their privacy at all activities including daily activities. 6. S: Safety: We should ensure their safety at all times.
